On the day of Mahaashtami , the Durga principle is thousand times more active hence all the seekers should chant the mantra of Sri Durga Devyai Namah atleast 11 malas (108 x 11 ) so that the Durga principle protects us from the attack of the sublte negative forces which have been affecting our worldly as well as spiritual life.
