Huts-of-Pak-Hindu-migrants-burnt-down-in-JaisalmerVimal Bhatia| TNN | Jaisalmer | Jun 5, 2016::  Central government has started the process of giving citizenship to Pak-Hindus by relaxing rules, while some antisocial elements who are unhappy with the move, set fire to huts of Pak-Hindus at Mohangarh area in Jaisalmer district. Demanding justice, the Pak-Hindu migrants took out a procession and submitted a memorandum to the collector. They said a few influential people are trying to forcefully evacuate them from the place.

In the memorandum, they said that they were residing at their house allotted by the government at Mohangarh, 60 km away from Jaisalmer. These Pak-Hindu families neither have fields for agriculture nor any means through they can earn permanent income. They work in nearby fields for a living.

After facing atrocities in Pakistan, they came to India with the hope of finding peace. But their fate is still not supporting them. A few antisocial elements of the village harassed and beat them and adopted all means to evacuate them from the colony. But when they failed to do so, they set fire to their houses.

The migrants also went to Mohangarh police, but they did not take any action against the influential people.

Later, the victim families met Jaisalmer collector.They submitted a memorandum and apprised him about the entire incident. Collector Vishwamohan Sharma assured that legal action will be taken against influential people and all efforts would be made to give them respite.

Meanwhile, SP Rajiv Pachar said he has no information about the incident.
