Bombay HC rejects Mangueshi temple priest’s bail plea

Aug 17, 2018

The Goa police on Thursday issued a lookout notice against Dhananjay Bhave booked in connection with the Mangueshi temple molestation cases after the Bombay High court at Goa rejected both his anticipatory bail applications.

The accused temple priest, whose earlier bail applications were rejected by Additional District and Sessions Court in Ponda on August 4, allegedly molested two women inside the famous temple in south Goa, in June.

Investigating officer in Ponda, Inspector Harish Madkaikar, told The Hindu on Thursday evening, “He is absconding. We have launched a search for him and lookout notice has been already issued.”

Last month, Bhave was booked in two separate cases under Section 354 (outraging modesty) of the Indian Penal Code.
