Difference between a follower and a disciple

Guru_ShishyaEvery Master (Guru) has many followers, but only a few selected disciples, to transform from a follower to a disciple, one has to delve deep into the sea of devotion for the Master. Followers accept anyone as a Master very easily, but do not obey the directives of the Master, whereas the disciples follow the principle of ‘Mantram Mulam Guror Vakyam Moksh Mulam gurukrupa’, meaning that the ‘word’ of the Master is the ‘mantra’ for the disciple. This is essentially the only difference between a follower and a disciple.- (Paratpar Guru ) Tanuja Thakur
